Naugatuck High School was completed in 1959 after being relocated to its present location from what is now Hillside Middle School. This school instructs nearly 1,400 students in math, science, social studies, history, English and language. Students are also offered a chance to take advanced placement courses, and are required to test in the state-mandated CAPT testing process.

Naugatuck High School has a long tradition in football, particularly in its Thanksgiving Day rival game against Ansonia High School. The rivalry game stretches back 109 years.
