<p>The Union City Little League--one of two Little League programs in Naugatuck--serves families east of the Naugatuck River. The league operates baseball and softball teams for boys ages 5 (before April 1) to 12 (before April 30) and softball for girls up to age 16.</p>
<p>There are no tryouts. All Naugatuck children who meets the age and residencey requirements will play on a team, and evaluations will subsequently be held to make sure skilled players who are eligible to move up to a higher division receive that chance.</p> <p>The League is broken down into eight levels: Rookie League (ages 5 and 6); A Division (ages 6 and 7 ); AA Division (age 8); AAA Division (ages 9-12); Major Division (ages 10-12); Junior, Majors and Minors Girls Softball.</p> <p>The season begins April 25 and ends mid-June. All-star teams play from the season's end through the beginning of August. </p> <p>Schedules, directions to fields, game updates, news and fundraising information are provided on the Union City Little League's website. </p>
