Our community has lost a beautiful, caring and generous woman. When I served on the Finance BoardRead More and later as a Burgess, Anne was the department head who I respected the most. She was professional, diligent and always respectful, but if it required a fight to get what she needed for her department, she wasn't afraid to give it all that was required. Oftentimes, she was the only Borough Department Head to attend the Borough Board meetings. One time I remember, there were a couple of Girl Scouts who spoke before the Borough Board for the recognition of Juliette Lowe's Birthday. Anne told me then that she was a lifelong member of Girl Scouts USA, and I was so impressed. She was a true supporter all that was good in Naugatuck, from the Rotary Club, Historical Society, Garden Club, the United Way of Naugatuck & Beacon Falls, and more. I feel so honored to have been there last month as Anne was one of 50 honored with the Van Allen Medal from the United Way of Naugatuck & Beacon Falls. While Anne will be missed, there are many of us who were truly inspired by Anne’s service and spirit, so that she will never be forgotten.
