ITALY — Nick Nardelli, age 81, died unexpectedly on April 30, 2012 in his hometown of San Pietro Infine, Province of Caserta, Italy. He was born November 15, 1930, son of the late Diomira De Iulianis and Domenico Nardelli. He came to the United States in 1967 and opened Nick Nardelli’s on the corner of West Dover and South Main Street in Waterbury. Nick retired in 1996 and chose to return to his home town of San Pietro Infine, Province of Caserta, Italy, where he enjoyed the remainder of his life. He leaves his brother Corraddo Nardelli and his wife Dina; his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews all of Italy. SEYMOUR — Ms. Latisha M. (Gandy) Kennedy, 41, of 31 Patrick Drive passed away unexpectedly on Sunday May 13, 2012 at Griffin Hospital. She was the daughter of Timothy Gandy Sr. and Dorothy (Ireland) Gandy. Latisha was born in Waterbury on February 23, 1971. She attended Naugatuck schools and graduated from Naugatuck High School. She also graduated from the University of Maryland with her bachelor’s degree. Latisha was currently perusing her master’s degree of Science Technology Management, Project Management. She was a retired master sergeant 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. During that time, she did two tours of duty in Iraq. WATERBURY — Irene (Olszewski) Kowalewski, 92, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012. She was the widow of John Kowalewski. Irene was born on September 12, 1920 in Naugatuck a daughter of the late Michael and Evelyn (Kovzan) Olszewski. She is survived by one son, John A. Kowalewski of Waterbury and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Besides her husband she is predeceased by two sisters, Hedwig Cavalera and Helen Olszewski and two brothers Walter and Stanley Olszewski. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. PROSPECT — George A. Sabo, Jr., 87, of Prospect, passed away peacefully at his home May 9, 2012 with his loving wife, Shirley (Matijosaitis) and children around him. George was born May 19, 1924 in Waterbury, the son of George A. Sabo Sr. and Alice (Wrynn) Sabo. He was a resident of Prospect since 1938 and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church. A veteran of World War II, he served in the 3110th Signal Service Battalion credited in the Normandy, Northern France and Ardennes-Alsace Campaigns. NAUGATUCK — Mr. Marcel J. Laliberte, 77, of Cherry Street Ext. Naugatuck, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 8 2012 at Saint Mary’s Hospital. He was the husband of Jane (Kruse) Laliberte. Mr. Laliberte was born in Waterbury on November 2, 1934, a son of the late Raoul and Maria (Cote) Laliberte. NAUGATUCK — Mr. Sam Francis Perrotti, 87, of Naugatuck, passed away late Monday evening May 7, 2012, at the Middlebury Convalescent Home. He was the husband of Marie A. (Pesanelli) Perrotti. Sam was born in Waterbury Oct. 25, 1924, a son of the late Pasquale and Carolina (Billotta) Perrotti and was educated in the local school system. He moved to Naugatuck 53 years ago. NAUGATUCK – Helen Soboleski, 87, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital with her son Mark at her side. She was the wife of the late Henry M. Soboleski. Mrs. Soboleski was born February 6, 1925 in Ansonia, the daughter of the late Paul and Rose (Biga) Metelski. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident, where she was a communicant of St. Francis Church. PROSPECT — Jennifer Lynn Szyndlar, age 50, of Prospect, died unexpectedly on Saturday May 5, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. Jennifer was born in Waterbury on August 26, 1961 daughter of John F. Szyndlar Sr. and Lorraine M. (Moniz) Szyndlar of Prospect. She was a former employee of Corametrics and 76 Truck Stop and volunteered as a paramedic in Wolcott. She loved animals, worked on a horse farm, and also enjoyed riding motorcycles. In addition to her parents, Jennifer is survived by two brothers, John F.
