Naugatuck Public Works & Recreation contains two of the town's most important government office. Headed byMore Superintendant Robert Roland, the Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for maintaining all of Naugatuck's public green spaces and recreational areas, as well as organziing numerous holiday and summer events. The Department of Public Works, administrated by Director James Stewart, is responsible for the town's pothole repair and snow removal work, as well as the town's recycling center.

"The mission of the Naugatuck Visiting Nurses Association is to provide quality home care services in a safe andMore cost-effective manner to individuals in need of such services in the community," reads the association's mission statement.</p> <p>Established in the 1920s under the auspices of the American Red Cross, the Naugatuck Visiting Nurses Association is licensed through the state Department of Public Health. The organization was originally called the Naugatuck Public Health Nursing Service until he 1980s when it expanded its role and began assuming the duties of providing skilled home care to the community.</p> <p>The VNA offers home care services to town residents, including nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work and home health aides. The VNA also provides blood pressure clinics and participates in health fairs and other community events. It also provides referrals to community resources and home safety checks.</p> <p>The Naugatuck VNA uses the Community Health Accreditation Program for its accreditation process. CHAP examiners visit every three years and examine employees, patients and financial records. They also make home visits.</p>

Naugatuck Borough Administrative & Executive Departments - Parks

The Parks and Recreation Department, located inside the Naugatuck Public Works building on Rubber Avenue, isMore responsible for maintaining recreational areas throughout the town. This includes both properties run by the municipal government as well as the Board of Education. Snow removal at the parks and surrounding areas is also administered through this department. Some of the parks include baseball and soccer fields.</p> <p>The current director of the Parks and Recreation Department is James Stewart. His office, which shares a building with the Naugatuck Ambulance Inc., is open 8am - 3:30pm on weekdays. Stewart can be reached by e-mail at publicworks@naugatuck-ct.gov.</p> <p>Park employees also prepare fields for sports activities, carry out improvements on properties and set up facilities for large town events, according to the town's website. Holiday events are also held for Easter, Halloween and Christmas, as well as events held on the Town Green seasonally. The department also maintains the town-run Hop Brook Golf Course. </p> <p>Residents looking to apply for permits for use of the parks, whether it be seasonal for a specific event, must do so at the Parks and Recreation Department. </p> <p>The department also owns a second building just nearby its offices, where it stores equipment for the town.</p>
