Jane Doe No More
Sexual assault thrives in the darkness of silence and is nurtured by a culture of secrecy. The Penn State case tells us this is so; Horace Mann High School confirms it. Jane Doe No More, Inc. is working to end that silence.

The statistics surrounding sexual assault are staggering: 1 in 6 men will become victims in their lifetime, as will 1 in 4 women; most victims are under the age of 24; every two minutes, someone in this country is raped; most sexual assaults will never be reported. It is that last fact that drives Jane Doe No More, a national nonprofit dedicated to improving the way society responds to victims of sexual assault. We are working to end the silence surrounding sexual assault. We encourage victims to report their crimes and to share their stories. In doing so, we empower them to begin the journey from victim to survivor.

Founded in 2007 by Connecticut resident and sexual assault survivor Donna Palomba, Jane Doe No More provides education and advocacy services for survivors; professional training for police officers and other first responders; self-defense classes for women and young girls; community outreach programs. Executive director Debra Meyers blogs for the Patch on behalf of Jane Doe No More, Inc.

Visit us at
www.janedoenomore.org, like us on facebook or follow us on twitter @janedoenomorenp
