Patrick Scalisi, Neighbor

I was born, raised and educated in Naugatuck, having attended both of the borough's Catholic elementary schools before transitioning to Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, Conn. From 2001-05, I attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, where I earned a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in media studies. Following graduation, I worked for a number of media outlets, including the Citizen's News in Naugatuck and the public relations department at Sacred Heart University.

In 2006, I was hired as the associate editor of a New Haven-based magazine, where I am currently employed. I also began writing and publishing fiction, and my work has appeared in a number of print and web publications and in two short story anthologies.

I learned about Naugatuck Patch in late-2010 and was frankly astounded by the breadth of coverage that it provides for the borough. Through a happy twist of fate, I began freelancing for the site in January 2011.
