Next up at the Phoenix Stage.

Coming soon to the will be The Ice Box, an original thriller by Emmy award winning videographer & documentarian, Rick Doyle. This marks the first time that the Phoenix has presented a thriller and Connecticut’s own Rick Doyle himself directed the show fresh from serving as director of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Warner Theater. This is how their website describes this unique play: “The Ice Box begins 12,000 feet up on Mt. Olive in Idaho at the Mt. Olive Weather Observatory and something up there doesn't want anyone to leave. An original horror story packed with thrills, chills and elements of humor - a very, unique terrifying experience. Like no other show you’ve ever seen!”

The cast features some Phoenix Stage regulars, like Ed Bassett (one of the partners in the theater,) Moses Beckett ( and ,) Chris Evans (, , and ,) and perennial favorite Val Vitalo (, and Love, Sex and the IRS and Beyond Therapy.) Also in the cast are Brian Elser, Rachel Armour, Jason Begin, Kimberly O’Brien, Katherine Ray (the extremely scary Childcatcher in the Warner’s ) and KC Ross.

Sharon Wilcox appeared on Backstage with Johnny O and revealed that some of the purple seats had to be temporarily removed from the theater in order to accommodate the larger scenery needed for this production. Therefore, tickets will be slightly limited.  So if you want to see this unusual play, don’t wait. Tickets are $22.00 for adults/$18.00 for students & seniors and can be purchased by calling the box office at (203) 632-8546 or by e-mail at tickets@phoenixstagecompany.org
