Torrington, CT –The Warner Stage Company will bring everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage when SHREK the Musical opens July 27 on the main stage of the Warner Theatre.

Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks film that started it all, this musical brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre and features a terrific score of 19 all-new songs, big laughs and great dancing.

In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre (played by Michael Cartwright ) – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess (Rebecca Russo). Throw in a donkey (Moses Beckett) who won’t shut up, a villain (Zach Carter), a cookie (Rachel Oremland) with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek.

This Warner Stage Company production is Directed and Choreographed by Sheila Waters Fucci with Music Director, Beth Lorenzo.

Tickets are $20, $26, $33.50…tickets are 50% off in select seats for children 14 and under accompanied by an adult…and can be purchased by calling the Warner box office at 860-489-7180 or online at www.warnertheatre.org.
