Theater People Alyssa Fontana and AJ Bunel are Wed on Saturday

Two community theater celebrities were married on Saturday. Actress/director Alyssa Fontana tied the knot with musical director AJ Bunel in an afternoon ceremony at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Harwinton CT.

Mrs. Bunel has appeared in many area productions, including The Last Five Years at the Phoenix Stage Company and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Warner Theatre. This summer she is directing the young actors at Southington Parks & Recreation Department's Summer Theater program called Footlights. On Wednesday the students in the program sent the bride off on her wedding weekend in a very special way.

The young actors, entering grades 7 through 9, serenaded their beloved "Miss Fontana" with a "super awesome song" written by their music director, Pat Hanlon, to the tune of "Under the Sea". A video of the young actors singing this special song to the very surprised bride to be is posted on the SYST Footlights Facebook page.

Mr. Bunel recently was music director for the recent production of Forever Plaid at the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre in Torrington and has directed many other shows in the area. He is a music teacher in Thomaston.
