The Demolition of Peter Paul; NHS Swim Meet

Headlining this week's Viewfinder column is a photo book of the demolition of an 88-year-old candy factory icon and a swim meet from last week.

In the past two weeks, Peter Paul has been undergoing demolition.

The candy factory made Almond Joy and Mounds candies for 88 years, although the Peter Paul company has been located in Naugatuck for the better part of a century. Many people worked there from Naugatuck, and many lost their jobs when the parent company, the Hershey Co., moved the candy-making operation to Virginia in 2007.

Hershey said it plans on redeveloping the land for the future commercial venture, although it's unclear what will become of it.
