The Naugatuck Public Works Department is asking residents to make sure they have their recycling bins out in the early morning for the rest of the week.
The department put an announcement on Naugatuck Patch stating that it is forced to have crews pick up recycling manually due to equipment breakdowns. Therefore, the DPW is sending crews out early so they can avoid some of the extreme heat forecast for the rest of the week. Recycling collections will begin at 5 a.m. Wednesday through Friday.
