Suarez Ignites Crowd at Stepping Up Ceremony

City Hill Middle School eighth-grader Tyler Suarez has made quite a name for himself as a musician and philanthropist over the past year.

The young man has used his musical talents to raise money for his aunt Dawn Hochsprung's scholarship fund. Hochsprung was the principal at Sandy Hook Elementary School and died in the tragedy on Dec. 14.

On Thursday, during a stepping up ceremony to high school for City Hill eighth-graders, Suarez crooned on stage while playing his acoustic guitar in front of more than 1,000 spectators. He amazed the crowd not only with his impressive rendition of Greenday's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)," but also with his stage presence and calming demeanor. He acted as if playing in front of thousands was something he did every day.
