United Way Offers Trip to Yankee Stadium

Volunteers want to take you to see the Yankees and the Tigers.

Do you like the New York Yankees? Do you like baseball? Do you want to support the United Way of Naugatuck and Beacon Falls?

If you answered 'yes' to those questions, then you ought to consider joining a trip to Yankee Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 11 that will serve as a fundraiser for the local United Way.

The game will be held at 1 p.m. against the Detroit Tigers. Tickets will be $130 per person, which includes admission to the game, plus the bus trip to the game.

Those attending will sit in section 227B, near the third-base line and under a cover. There will be prize raffles, a 50-50 raffle and the movie "42": The Jackie Robinson Story will be shown on the bus.

The bus will leave the Flabeg (glass company) employee lot at the corner of Church Street and Spring Street. The bus is expected to arrive at the stadium at 11 a.m., in time for tours of the new facility, including a possible tour of Monument Park.

The bus will depart from the Bronx immediately following the game.

To purchase tickets, or for more information, call the United Way at 203.729.1564.
