Having served Naugatuck as the Assistant Town Clerk for over 12 years and as the Town Clerk for 2 ½ years, I feel I am the most qualified and experienced individual for this position.  I see this title not only as an honor but also as a life-long career that requires dedication, commitment, strong work ethic and knowledge of a busy and essential borough office.  The majority of the Town Clerk’s duties are governed by the Connecticut General Statutes.  As the current Town Clerk I possess an excellent working knowledge of all the laws, procedures, rules and regulations that those of us in this position are required to follow.  I am also committed, as I have been for over 15 years, to learning the new laws and statutory changes implemented by our legislators.

My job duties require that I serve all of our borough residents in many different capacities.  Everyday my office staff and I provide countless services and referrals to our customers.  In many ways, the Office of the Town clerk is the hub or the borough’s Town Hall as a whole; my familiarity with the procedures, laws, and statutes allows me to best handle the vital records, veteran discharge documents, land records, and canine licenses of Naugatuck’s citizens thus making this position one in which I feel rewarded and privileged to have. The office of the Town Clerk works well with all other departments to help customers solve problems and receive customer satisfaction; I perceive this all as testament to the job I do in conjunction with my staff. I see this as a glimpse into the future and the way I would continue to run the fundamental and essential duties of office of the Town Clerk should be elected for another term.

My history in this office combined with my ambition and determination to continue to surpass the expectations of this community make me the most capable and suitable candidate.  I will continue to implement and improve upon the successful processes and procedures that have been bestowed upon me by the borough and taught to me by our predecessor, Sophie K. Morton.  It has been my joy to serve as your Town Clerk and I hope you support my endeavor for another two years.
