Leaves, grass, straw, pine needles and other soft materials are accepted for this collection. No trash, cans and bottles, branches and brush, dirt, and rocks, they are all unacceptable in the leaf bags. The organic material will be recycled through composting. Residents should never put bags of grass clippings, and leaves in their automated collection carts.

Paper leaf bags are also accepted at the Naugatuck Recycling Center, Thursday or Saturday 8 AM to 2 PM. Leaves are not accepted in plastic bags. Home compost bins are available from residents and can be purchased at the Recycling Center. Compost bins will turn leaves and other plant material into valuable compost for use in gardens and lawns.Call 203-720-7071 or email publicworks@naugatuck-ct.gov with questions
