Altar Boyz is a foot-stomping, rafter-raising, musical comedy about a fictitious Christian boy-band on the last night of their national "Raise the Praise" tour. The Boyz are five all-singing, all-dancing heartthrobs: Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham. You'll laugh and cheer and understand why this show ran for five years off-Broadway and won the award for Outstanding New Musical. Playing for two weekends only, you won't want to miss these Boyz, who are trying to save the world one screaming fan at a time.

Josh Wright, Associate Director of the production, appeared on Backstage with Johnny O. He mentioned that the mostly Christian boy band ("Abraham" is "a gefilte fish out of water") is made up of five talented New York based actors. The show features a live band playing all original music and plenty of tight choreography. The music contains fine harmonies in the boy band tradition. Production Manager Casey Hagwood described the Patio Cabaret feature that will be added to the July 21 and the July 25 through 28 performances. After the 90 minute show (with no intermission) the cast will continue the fun at the newly renovated outdoor bar. When Pigs Fly will offer barbeque dinners during the hour before the show on the patio. TriArts Sharon is a not-for-profit theatre, located in Litchfield County, Sharon, CT, at the foot of the Berkshires.
