Preview of Naugatuck Teen Theatre's 'Annie Get Your Gun'

The Irving Berlin classic musical will be presented at St. Michael's Church Hall.

Naugatuck Teen Theater sings in the spring with one of musical theatre’s spunkiest leading ladies with Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun, playing May 4, 5, 10, 11, 12 at Saint Michael’s Church Hall at 210 Church Street Naugatuck.

This Tony Award-winning musical, which recently enjoyed a Broadway revival, tells the fictional love story of Annie Oakley and Frank Butler. The two unlikely lovers meet as Buffalo Bill’s traveling Wild West Show comes to town. Annie quickly falls for the dashing Mr. Butler, but he is a little put off by her pistol prowess. In classic Broadway fashion, the couple ultimately falls head over heels for each other when Annie learns she “can’t get a man with a gun.”

The play features some of musical theatre’s best show-stopping musical numbers such as "Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better" and of course, "There’s No Business Like Show Business." Long considered Irving Berlin's greatest theatrical achievement, Annie Get Your Gun is one of the greatest American love stories.

This great production stars local teens from around the Naugatuck /Waterbury region. Directed by Dan Wagoner, Choreography by Jennifer Mazzeo of Naugatuck, Musical Direction by Beckie Scattergood Wallace of Litchfield County, Costumes by Aurora Montenero of Torrington, and Hair by Jessica Sagendorf -Branco of Naugatuck.

Annie Get Your Gun plays for six performances Saturday May 4th, and 11th at 8pm, Friday May 10th 8pm, Sundays May 5th and 12th at 2PM and a special Saturday May11th 2pm matinee.
