Security Policy Change for All Service Trades at Kaynor Tech High School

Important information for patrons of "Taste of Kaynor" and other services

An important notice from Principal Lisa Hylwa at W.F. Kaynor Technical High School

The tragedy that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday morning touched all of us as educators, staff members, parents and community members. The loss of six dedicated, passionate, committed educators is devastating and the loss of twenty children beyond comprehension and heartbreaking. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, children, teachers and administrators of Sandy Hook Elementary School and the entire Newtown community.

This tragedy has forced our school safety team and the administration to review and reinforce our school security procedures. This notice is intended to communicate school security policies and procedures to all stakeholders.

If you are planning to visit our restaurant, “Taste of Kaynor”, you must have a reservation and have your name registered in the main office and at security. You have to give the culinary team at least three hours advance notice. When possible, please call a day ahead in order to avoid an issue. All “take out” orders will need to be called in and the person picking up the order must be registered in the main and security offices.

This extra step is well-worth the effort before making the trek to Waterbury to try "Taste of Kaynor." Click here to read a review of my last visit for lunch.

This policy will affect all service trades, which also include Auto, Auto Body, Hairdressing and Fashion Tech. All visitors must enter through main entrance. Do not proceed to the service areas without registering and getting clearance through the security and the school service providers.

I wholeheartedly agree with Eric. I am thinking of taking my account to a different bank in protest.Read More (NAUGATUCK Savings & Loan perhaps) May sound silly to some, but in my opinion, changing the name of such an historic institution to me is blasphemous, not to mention sounding stupid. ION indeed!
