Town Wide National Walking Day Celebrated in Naugatuck

Families laced up their sneakers and headed to Linden Park to celebrate National Walking Day.

Naugatuck Discovery, Sodexo Nutrition Services and the Borough of Naugatuck presented the second annual Town Wide National Walking Day on Saturday from 10:00am until noon. The sunny (and a bit windy) day was the perfect setting for families to come to Linden Park to walk the track and enjoy the activities.

Powerstation provided music for a free Zumba demonstration. Sodexo offered healthy snacks and nutrition information. Police checked to make sure that car seats were safety installed. The police explorers provided free child identification kits. Also represented was Young Living Essential Oils, Stay Well Center, and Naugatuck Discovery. Supercow from Guida Dairy passed out pencils to the attendees.

Some families turned in non-perishable food donations as they checked in at the registration table. The Naugatuck school that had the most student and staff participation will win athletic equipment for their school and as of 11:00 am, Maple Hill School was very well represented.
