Ronald Polomski

TORRINGTON – Mr. Ronald J. Polomski, Jr., 64, of Torrington, unexpectedly passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.  He was the husband of Janice (Columbia) Polomski.

Mr. Polomski was born in Waterbury on April 3, 1948, a son of the late Ronald J. Polomski, Sr. and Catherine M. (Dunne) Polomski.  He was a longtime Naugatuck resident before living in Torrington for the past 26 years.  He worked for many years at Hitchcock Chair Company, Paul Herbert Woodworking, and most recently Farmington Displays Inc.  He enjoyed cooking and was an avid sports fan, especially the Yankees.

 Besides his wife of 25 years, he leaves his son, Domenic Maritano and his wife Tina of Torrington; his brother, David Polomski and his wife Mary of Bloomsbury, NJ; his two nieces, Catherine Polomski of Germany and Adellyn Polomski of New York, NY.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, at noon at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.  Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11am until the time of service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Little Guild of St. Francis, 285 Sharon-Goshen Turnpike, West Cornwall, CT 06796.  To send an on-line condolence, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com.

Anna T. Lopes

NAUGATUCK -- Ana T.  Lopes, 86 , passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the widow of Manuel M. Lopes.

Mrs. Lopes was born on March 13, 1927 in Murtosa, Portugal, a daughter of the late Antonio Tomas and Ana Tavares.  She was retired from Uniroyal Footwear in 1979 where she worked  as an inspector for many years.  She was a long time member of Clube Uniao Portuguesa, a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.  She loved flowers, gardening and cooking for her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Leonor L. Sabino and her husband John of New Fairfield, one son, Manny J. Lopes and his wife Maryann of Southington, her four grandchildren, Melissa A. Piccolo and her husband David,  Matthew J. Lopes, Capt. Jennifer M. Sabino, MD, Jonathan M. Sabino, and two great-granddaughters, Isabella and Sophia Piccolo and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.

The funeral will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck on Sunday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Harrison Katrenya

OXFORD -- Harrison D. "Babe" Katrenya, age 75 a lifelong Oxford resident entered into peaceful rest March 15, 2013 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby. He was the son of the late John, Sr. and Antoinette (Dytko) Katrenya.  Mr. Katrenya was retired from the Kerite Co. Seymour, and also from the former Dworkin Chevrolet in Derby. Babe was a communicant of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Oxford; he was an avid gardener and enjoyed bowling, golf, hunting and fishing; his hobbies included woodworking and scrollwork, he also liked feeding the birds.

Mr. Katrenya leaves his loving family including a brother, John Katrenya, Jr. of Oxford, four nephews, Andrew Katrenya of Naugatuck, Richard Katrenya  and Alan Katrenya both of Oxford, and Kevin Katrenya of Seymour, and 10 grand-nieces and nephews. His brothers, Andrew Katrenya, Sr., and Stephen Urick, predeceased him.

Calling Hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Ralph E Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
