Obituary: Adolph William English, Jr Dies at 92

The following obituary was provided by Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home in Naugatuck.

WATERBURY — Mr. Adolph William English, Jr., age 92, of Waterbury, died Saturday March 10, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. He was the husband of the late Genevieve (Bulger) English.

Mr. English was born in Bridgeport on January 4, 1920 son of the late Adolphe William English Sr. and the late Margaret (Hoffman) English. He was retired from Bavier, Bulger and Goodyear Management Consultants where he worked as a management consultant for many years and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Waterbury.

Mr. English was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps having served during World War II. He was a member and past officer of the American Legion Post #17 in Naugatuck and the Waterbury Lodge of Elks. Mr. English spent many hours volunteering with Literacy Volunteers and also administered G.E.D. Exams and delivered books to shut-ins for many years.

Mr. English is survived by four daughters: Brenda Kirkowski and her husband Michael of California, Kathleen McLaughlin of Naugatuck, Ct., Dorann Poynter of California and Mary Eileen Lee of Waterbury, Ct, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday March 16, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 785 Highland Ave. Waterbury, CT. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck.  There are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 82 Fairview Ave. Naugatuck, Conn., is in charge of arrangements.
