Obituary: Anna T. Mezzo, 94, of Naugatuck

Anna T. (Wujcik) Mezzo, 94, of Naugatuck, passed away on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of John E. Mezzo.

Mrs. Mezzo was born in Union City on June 13, 1918, a daughter of the late Wladislaw and Marianna (Purzycki) Wujcik. She was lifelong Naugatuck resident and retiree of Peter Paul where she worked for 43 years. She was a member of the Naugatuck Friendship Club and a communicant of St. Hedwig Church.

She leaves her son, John W. Mezzo of Naugatuck; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Beacon Brook Healthcare Center for their kindness and excellent care given to Anna during her stay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck.  Please meet DIRECTLY at the church at 9:45 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.  There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis-St. Hedwig School, 294 Church St., Naugatuck, CT 06770.
