Obituary: Carmen A. Panasuk Dies at 83

CHESTER, N.Y. — Mrs. Carmen A. (Thibodeau) Panasuk, age 83, of Chester, N.Y., formerly of Naugatuck, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at the Park Manor Rehabilitation Center in Middletown, N.Y. She was the widow of Robert B. Panasuk.

Mrs. Panasuk was born in Waterville, Maine on July 24, 1928, daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (St. Amand) Thibodeau. She was an active communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck, having served on the Catholic Council, helping with bingo and serving as a eucharistic minister. She was also a former member of the Holy Cross Mother's Club.

Mrs. Panasuk is survived by two daughters, Trish Thaw and her husband, Jeff, of Chester, N.Y., and Lynn Mangini of North Haven; five brothers, Bobby Thibodeau of Jacksonville, Fla., Richard Thibodeau, Jimmy Thibodeau, John Thibodeau and Bernie Thibodeau and his wife, Patty, all of Waterville, Maine; a grandson, Justin Mangini; several nieces and nephews, and her grandkitties, Ellie, Bubba, Lilly, Herbie and Harry K. She was predeceased by two sons, David and Randy Panasuk.

Trish and Jeff would like to thank all of their and Carmen's friends for their love, support and prayers. Special thanks to her wonderful caretakers who became part of our family.

Friends may call at Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, on Saturday, March 10, 2012, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Church for a Mass celebrating her life at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
