Obituary: Dorothy Cyr, 82

Mrs. Cyr was a geriatric nurse in the Valley for several years.

 

Mrs. Dorothy (Miller) Cyr, age 82, of Waterbury, formerly of 167 Bethany Road, Beacon Falls, peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, February 1, 2013.  She was the widower of Maurice Cyr.

Mrs. Cyr was born in Stratford, CT on March 16, 1930, a daughter of the late John and Agnes (Blazewicz) Miller.  She was a resident of Beacon Falls for over 75 years until recently moving to Waterbury.  She worked as a geriatric nurse in the valley and during her last ten years at Glendale Health Care Center.  She was a communicant of St. Michael Church.

 Mrs. Cyr is survived by her three sons, Robert Cyr and his wife Linda of Plainfield, CT, David Cyr and his wife Kim of Southington, CT, and Kevin Cyr of Waterbury with whom she made her home; her two daughters, Dorothy Slessinger of Beacon Falls, Debra Cyr of Colorado; seventeen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother John Miller, Jr.

 All services will be private.  The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements.
