Obituary: Janet L. Woodside Gonzalves, 78

Janet L. Woodside Gonzales, 78, of Waterbury, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital.

Janet was born in Seymour, CT on April 1, 1934, a daughter of the late John and Sarah (Foster) Tifft.  She was a longtime Naugatuck resident and retired from Saint Mary’s Hospital after many years.  She enjoyed crafts, embroidering, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She leaves six daughters, Drue Stegner of Colchester, CT, Joellen ‘Jody’ Tiedemann and her husband John of Southborough, MA, Gretchen Sherman of Wolcott, CT, Janet Woodside of Happy Valley, OR, Rachael Bisson and her husband Michael of Naugatuck, CT, Alison Kiah and her husband Rob of Holden, ME; 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. 

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, August 9 at 9:15am from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am.  Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery, Seymour.  Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.
