Obituary: Joaquim Fragoso, 88, of Naugatuck

Mr. Fragoso was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, a member of the Clube Uniao Portuguesa in Naugatuck and a member of Labor Union 390.

Joaquim M. Fragoso, age 88, of 80 Amanda Lane, Naugatuck, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Francelina (Marques) Fragoso.

Mr. Fragoso was born on March 9, 1925, in Pardilho, Portugal, a son of the late Preciosa Silva Matos and Joaquim Da Silva Fragoso. He was a former laborer for the WJ Megin Construction, Inc., of Naugatuck. His principal occupation and skill was arpentry, and he was also an engineer by trade. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, a member of the Clube Uniao Portuguesa in Naugatuck and a member of Labor Union 390.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Manuel M. Fragoso and his wife Weileechu of N. Carolina, Anthony M. Fragoso and his wife Mindy of Naugatuck, and Christian Fragoso and his wife Angela of Cheshire, two brothers, Manuel and Alexander Fragoso both of Portugal, one sister, Lourdes Fragoso also of Portugal. He will also be missed by his six grandchildren, Hailey A. Fragoso of Cheshire, Stephanie Jacoboski and her husband Marcus of Old Saybrook, Danielle Fragoso of Old Saybrook, Jennifer L. Fragoso of NY, Christian A. Fragoso of Cheshire, and Jason A. M. Fragoso and his wife Patricia of Sandy Hook, and two great grandchildren, Timothy and Juliana Jacoboski.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Ludovina Fragoso.

The funeral will be held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m.
