Mrs. Murray, a prolific seamstress, had lived in the borough since 1930.

Mrs. Lois (Deisher) Murray, 98, of Naugatuck, was reunited with our Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2013.

A daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Kurtz) Deisher, she was born in Washington Township, Pa., on Sept. 17, 1915. She relocated from Williamsport to Naugatuck in 1930.

She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, and had worked for many years for the Footwear Division of Uniroyal Inc., both as a supervisor on the floor and in the sales room. She retired from there in 1977, with almost 40 years of service.

Mrs. Murray was a gifted and prolific seamstress, needle pointer, knitter and, especially, a quilter, in which she demonstrated her fine craftsmanship and marvelous sense of color coordination. Many of those she leaves behind are pleased to have examples of her excellent work by which to fondly remember her and warm themselves on cold winter evenings. She will be profoundly missed by all who were privileged to know her during her long and admirable life.

She leaves three children, Sallyann (Raymond) Hooper of Northfield, Elizabeth Javier of Naugatuck, and Raymond (Deborah) Murray of Naugatuck; two sisters, Velma Mikelskas of Beacon Falls, and Dorothy Strew of Naugatuck; as well as eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
