Obituary: Maria Malgari, 96

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Maria (Arru) Malgari, 96, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Wolcott View Manor. She was the widow of Nicolino Malgari.

Mrs. Malgari was born on March 4, 1917, in Borrutta, Sardinia, Italy a daughter of the late Giovanni Arru and Antonica Solinas. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and sewing. She especially enjoyed her many visits with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Maria Antonietta Willenbrock of Middlebury, and Serafina Allison and her husband William of Naugatuck, one son, Salvatore Malgari and his wife Betty Jane. She will also be missed by her eight grandchildren; William Allison and his wife Joanne, Laurie Roy and her husband Michael, Jacqueline Kane and her husband Donald, Nikki Jones, Tricia Bouffard and her husband Kenneth, Karlie Cesarini and her husband Gregory, Matthew Malgari and his wife Elizabeth, and Amanda Kolb and her husband Noah. She also leaves several great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her five brothers, Salvatore, Antonio, Giovanni, Giuseppe and Serafino.

The family would like to give special thanks to Wolcott View Manor for the wonderful care they gave Maria especially Debbie L. and Vasi.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. from the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck to St. Francis of Assisi Church for a mass at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8-8:30 a.m.
