Despite Pleas to Die, Cheshire Home Invasion Killer Steven Hayes Won't Be Executed Soon

Though he wants to abandon his appeals, Steven Hayes will stay on death row for a long time still, experts say.

Because of the complicated process of Connecticut's death penalty law, Steven Hayes can't be executed soon, even though he's tyring to give up his right to appeals of his death sentence, according to a Hartford Courant report.

Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky were sentenced to die for the murders of  Jennifer Hawke-Petit, and her daughters, Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11, during a  home invasion here more than five years aog. Hayes recently said he was abandoning his appeals because he is being subjected to "cruel and unusual punishment" by prison guards.

But experts quoted by the Courant said the state's recent and the likelihood that Hayes' lawyers will fight his attempts to be executed, would delay an execution.

Cruel and unusual punishment falls short of the daily torture this person deserves.

Oh yeah because he was fair to anyone in that family... The state should save us all some money and bs and throw these 2 into general population or a firing range!!!

It is a shame that we are still talking about this piece of human garbage.

I feel benevolent today. Lets give him what he desires! Tie him to a bed and light him on fire.

Though I an not a general fan of the death penalty, gotta agree it fits for these two. If he wants to forgo appeals, then save the State some money, and get it over with.

I hope nothing happens to the guards out of this. I am F'in sick and tired of the ACLU and other liberals worrying about the rights of convicted criminals. These 2 are the worst of the worst and they prove that certain ones CANNOT be rehabilitated. No amount of time in jail will "fix" this turd, so lets just do away with him and all the other scumbags on death row. I wish our legislators had the balls to put in a law like they have in Texas or some of the other states where the process doesnt take so long. Our DP law really was totally flawed- it had too many rights for the convicted criminal and not enough teeth to really get the job done. There is no doubt whatsoever about the absolute guilt of Hayes & his partner so there should be no delay in killing them.

Hang them by the b__s upside down and let them feel the pain the mother and two daughters felt. Then feed them to the " hard cores" in jail. Scum bags.

Love your way of thinking...this would be awesome but sadly it'll never happen. We like to think that we are too 'civilized" to treat these dirtballs the way should be. Yet, if we are so civilized as a society, why do pieces of unredeemable trash like this exist?
