Man Threatens Naugatuck Store Clerk With Knife

Man steals money and takes off; police search for suspect.

The following information comes from the Naugatuck Police Department:

On Saturday, Sept. 21,  at approximately 9:12 a.m., the Naugatuck Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery. A white male entered the Stop 'N' Save convenience store located at 168 Spencer St., displayed a knife and threatened a store clerk. The man stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled to a waiting vehicle parked on Lewis Street.

Police are looking for a suspect described as a white male, approximately 5-feet, 7-inches to 5-feet, 10-inches fall. He was caught on surveillance images (see attached) wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt, dark long pants, sunglasses and a black, knit hat with a logo on the front, possibly a Carhartt hat.

The vehicle the suspect fled in was described as a black foreign vehicle, possibly a Toyota, with a primer colored trunk. The car driver was described as white male with dark, curly hair.
