Said his fans wanted him to have the bus

An 18-year-old Middlebury man told police he allegedly stole a school bus from a South Main Street lot early Saturday because his fans wanted him to do it, and that he got the idea from social media, the Waterbury Republican-American reported.

Police said Kevin Monagan, 18, of Pine Hollow Drive, is accused of taking a school bus from the Student Transportation of America’s bus lot, the paper reports.

He allegedly drove it around town before being pulled over by police around 2 a.m. At the time, he was driving the bus with its headlights off but the hazard lights were on, the Republican-American reports.
