Naugatuck Woman Charged with DUI with Minors in Car

Woman also cited for driving without the toddler's car seat properly secured.

A Naugatuck woman was arrested last week for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol with two children in the car, one not properly secured in a car seat.

Latrisha Chambers, 33, of Cherry Street, was pulled over for driving too fast on North Church Street on May 27. During the traffic stop, officers determined that she was driving under the influence.

Two juveniles, ages 3 and 14, were also in the car. According to police, the 3-year-old was strapped into a child seat but the seat was not secured to the car.

Chambers was charged with operating under the influence, traveling unreasonably fast, failure to drive right and failure to secure a child under 4 with the proper restraints.

She was released on $500 bond pending a June 5 arraignment in Waterbury Superior Court.
