Madeline M. (Fredericks) Girulis, 90, formerly of Naugatuck passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2012 at Geer Nursing and Rehab after a long illness surrounded by her loving family. For 61 years she was the beloved wife of John Girulis.
Mrs. Girulis was born on August 16, 1922 in Williamsport, PA a daughter of the late Raymond Fredericks and Emma (Klensing) Fredericks. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a former member of the Dorcas Guild. Madeline was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family. She had a passion for reading and a great love of animals and nature.
She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Plourde and her husband Dennis of New Bern, NC and Janet Garceau and her husband Ronald of Goshen, five grandchildren Matthew, Laurie, Shilo, Roger and Rachel. She also leaves three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by her sister Phyllis Luxenburger and her four brothers, Raymond, Bernard, Charles and Paul.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Geer Nursing and Rehab for the loving care they provided to Madeline for the past six years.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul'sLutheran Church, 350 Millville Ave, Naugatuck. Burial will be in GroveCemetery. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home,82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck is in charge of arrangements.
