Statutory Rape, DUIs, Domestic Incidents in Police Blotter

The Naugatuck Police Department has charged a 19-year-old Stratford man with sexual assault.

 

A 19-year-old Stratford man has been charged with second-degree sexual assault after having sexual intercourse with an underage Naugatuck girl with whom he was an acquaintance.

Anthony Trotta III was charged with second-degree sexual assault: intercourse: unable to consent. That charge is levied against adults who have sex with someone  with a girl between 13 and 16 years old, according to Connecticut Penal Codes.

Trotta, of 116 Meadow Brook Lane, was also charged with risk of injury to a child. He was held on a $25,000 bond and was set to be arraigned today at Waterbury Superior Court.

Brian Page Jr., 38, of 23 Bernhard Road, North Haven, was charged with issuing a bad check after being accused of issuing seven checks for a total of $2,310 without having sufficient money in the bank, police said. He was released on a $500 court set bond and scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 14 at Waterbury Superior Court.

David Powell, 28, who is homeless, was charged with breach of peace and unlawful restraint after grabbing his girlfriend during a fight on Park Place Monday morning, police said. He was held on a $2,000 bond and scheduled to be arraigned today at Waterbury Superior Court.

Patricia Slinka, 53, of 245 High St., Naugatuck, was charged with criminal violation of a protective order and criminal trespass after entering the home of someone she was not supposed to have contact with per a court order. She was held on a  $10,000 surety bond and arraigned today at Waterbury Superior Court.

Carlos Amaral, 24, of 285 Quinn St., Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over at 12:53 a.m. Tuesday on Rubber Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. He was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 15 at Waterbury Superior Court.

James Gagnon, 47, of 33 Aetna St., Naugatuck, was charged with criminal violation of a restraining order and threatening after he contacted the victim via phone and said he was going to hurt the victim. 

Joshua Cassin, 28, of 66 Terrace Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over at 1:55 a.m. on Nov. 3 on May Street for a motor vehicle violation. He was released on a $500 surety bond and scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 15 at Waterbury Superior Court.

The above charges were released by the Naugatuck Police Department. Arrests do not equate to a conviction. All of the people arrested are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
