Naugatuck Election Day 2012: Everything You Need to Know

Good morning, and welcome to Election Day 2012!

Today, Naugatuck residents go to the polls to choose a president, a U.S. Senator, a U.S. Representative from the 3rd Congressional District, state representatives for the 70th and 131st districts, and state  senators in the 15th and 17th Districts.

See below for information on where to cast your ballot and the list of candidates. We've also included how Naugatuck voted in 2008, the year of the last presidential election, and 2010, the last mid-term election.

Read it over, then visit your local polling station between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. to make your voice heard! And be sure to check back with Patch for updates throughout the day, including the announcement of the winners as soon as votes are tallied tonight.

State and National Races

U.S. Senate

Chris Murphy (D) and Linda McMahon (R) are vying for the seat vacated by Joe Lieberman. Paul Passarelli is running as an Libertarian candidate. (Click on "U.S. Senate" for updates, results and reactions.)

U.S. Congress

Third District: Democrat Rosa DeLauro has served in the district since 1991 and is running against Republican Wayne Winsley. (Click on "U.S. Congress for updates, results and reactions.)

State House of Representatives

70th District: Incumbent Rosa Rebimbas, R-Naugatuck, is unopposed for her third term. (Click on the link for updates, results and reactions). 

131st District: Incumbent David Labriola, R-Oxford, is unopposed for his sixth term. (Click on the link for updates, results and reactions). 

State Senate

15th District: Democrat Joan Hartley is in her 12th year as a representative for the 15h District. She is running against Working Families candidate Blair Bertaccini and Independent Andrew Larsen. (Click on "15th District" for updates, results and reactions). 

17th District: Democrat Joe Crisco is going for his 11th term against Republican Tony Szewczyk. (Click on "17th District" for updates, results and reactions).
