Rules For Same Day Voter Registration

For the first time in Connecticut, voters will have the opportunity to register to vote in a municipal election on the day of that election.

Those wishing to register in Naugatuck on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, must appear in person at the Naugatuck Senior Center, 300 Meadow St., between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. where they can complete a voter registration form and provide a birth certificate, driver's license, Social Security card, or another form of identification to prove that they are eligible to vote. Those may include a valid college ID card or a state ID card.

If the ID card being used does not have a current address, the prospective voter must bring another form of ID showing their current address in the municipality. Those may include, but are not limited to, a motor vehicle learner's permit, utility bill due no later than 30 days after the election; for a college or university student, a current college or university registration or fee statement, a lease, library card with residential address, paycheck, property tax bill, naturalization documents, passport (assuming it is recent and includes residential address).
