Janet Maher’s book takes us on a journey from Ireland to Naugatuck by way of Catholicism. Mapping of local cemeteries like Saint Francis and locating records and letters throughout the 19th century she connects “the old sod” to the Naugatuck Valley and the early Irish Catholics in New Haven County.
