UPDATE: Power Back on After High School Closes Early Due to Power Outage

Power outage in Naugatuck Wednesday morning affects 15 percent of CL&P customers.

Update at 3:24 p.m.

Naugatuck High School was forced to close early today, Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, due to a power outage near the school on Rubber Avenue.

Connecticut Light & Power reported on its website that 2,208 Naugatuck customers were without power as of 12:54 p.m. That is 15 percent of the 14,348 CL&P customers in the borough.

The power outage was caused by a minor car accident on Rubber Avenue that took down a utility pole.
