Naugatuck Public Schools Will Have a Full Day Today

All after school activities are cancelled.

Despite some snow fall this morning, Naugatuck public schools will have a full school day today, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012.

However, all after school activities will be cancelled, said Bob Butler, assistant business manager for the Naugatuck Board of Education.

Superintendent John Tindall-Gibson put out this message today:

After further consultation with our meteorologist and several other superintendents at 9 this morning, we have decided to keep school in session for the full day and cancel all after-school activities. We are expecting accumulations up to 3" but the Town Street Department has been treating the roads since yesterday and with the temperature a bit warmer we think the streets will be passable for buses.  However, temperatures will start dropping this afternoon increasing the chances for slippery disruptive road conditions as we get into the late afternoon and evening.  The Faciltites and Curriculum Committee meetings are NOT cancelled.  Drive with care.

If there are any updates to report, we will keep you posted throughout the day.
