US Involvement in Syria's Crisis

The US has again deepened itself in a quagmire saturated in controversy regarding its possible involvement in Syria's worsening crisis. US involvement might result in an inescapable entanglement of domestic and global dissension.  We are infamous for liberating nations and notorious for meddling in their conflicts.  Serious questions loom over whether we should enter into an endeavor that may not be victorious on many levels.  With an economy practically on life support and a astronmical national debt, is it economically feasible to enter into another war when we haven't even fully extricated ourselves from Afghanistan? With a rapidly eroding middle class, rampant unemployment and underemployment, tens of millions lacking affordable healthcare, a globally subpar public education system, can we sustain the costs of involvement in Syria? Can we afford the political ramifications for no involvement?
